TEMP1.JPG (28745 bytes) THE PROBLEM

In many ferroalloy casting applications,  mould life is dramatically reduced by the fact that the moulds reach
a steady-state peak temperature ABOVE the critical mould temperature,
at which the iron moulds experience graphite grain growth, leading to weakness, cracking, and ultimate mould failure in a relatively short time.

Economy Industrial's patented process technology controls the design of the mould mass ratio, holding time in the mould, water spray cooling application, and other factors to reduce the mould peak steady-state temperatures to a level BELOW the critical mould temperature. The result is that the life of the moulds is increased substantially, reducing mould replacement cost.
